A romantic ruin of a Gothic castle from the early 14th century near Bakov nad Jizerou, originally the seat of the Lemberk family. Later Renaissance alterations by the Vartenberk family, with a Baroque chapel added by the Waldstein family. The castle was destroyed by two fires (1693, 1720). From the tower there are views of the Jizera River, Bohemian Paradise, Ještěd, Bezděz and the Krkonoše Mountains. A nature trail with 7 stops and an information centre in Podhradí featuring a 3D model of the castle as it stood in 1683.
