One of the best zoos in the world with more than 5,000 animals of 700 species. The expansive grounds in Troja offer pavilions, enclosures and children's playgrounds. Children will encounter elephants, gorillas, penguins and rare animals. Educational programmes are available for schools.

The zoo opened on 28 September 1931 in the Prague district of Troja.
The Gočár houses near the entrance originally stood at Kbely airfield, where in 1920–1921 they served as the very first terminal building. Director Zdeněk Veselovský had them moved to the zoo; since 2011 they house a gallery and an invertebrate exhibition.
