The Zelená hora pilgrimage site near Žďár nad Sázavou is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List (1994). The Church of St. John of Nepomuk was built in 1719–1722 to a design by Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel in his original Baroque Gothic style. Symbolically, everything is designed around numbers associated with St. John of Nepomuk – a five-pointed star, 5 chapels, 5 gates. The complex includes the church, an ambulatory with chapels, and a monastery garden. Tours are guided; the outdoor grounds are freely accessible year-round. A unique destination for teaching art history, architecture, and religion.
