The Renaissance château in Telč has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 1992, together with the historic town square. Two tour circuits include authentic Renaissance halls and the living quarters of the last owners. Seasonal exhibitions of costumes and props from fairy-tale films (Pyšná princezna, Sedmero krkavců) make the visit an experience even for the youngest visitors.

The Telč castle was taken by the Hussites on 21 September 1423. The lords of Hradec won it back, and in January 1437 Emperor Sigismund of Luxembourg stayed here.
Zachariáš of Hradec had the Gothic castle rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau; the Telč square on which it stands is named after him.
