Nelahozeves Castle is one of the most significant Renaissance structures in Bohemia, built in the 16th century by the Gryspek family and in the possession of the Lobkowicz family since 1623. The castle offers a circuit of 12 historic rooms with works by masters such as Veronese, Brueghel and Cranach, and a unique Lobkowicz library of 65,000 volumes. Educational programmes for schools are available in cooperation with the House of Lobkowicz.

Construction was begun in 1553 by Florián Gryspek z Gryspachu, at the time an adviser to the Bohemian king Ferdinand I.
The chateau holds the Lobkowicz family art collection and the former private library of Bohuslav Hasištejnský z Lobkovic from the 16th century.
