Category: chateau, guided tours

Originally a Gothic castle from 1367, it was rebuilt after 1872 by the industrialist Čeněk Daněk, co-founder of the engineering empire from which ČKD later emerged. The guided tour leads through the staterooms of the north and west wings — the Ceremonial Dining Room, the Rococo Salon, Čeněk Daněk's study and the Knights' Hall — with preserved Romantic stucco decoration, wooden panelling and coffered ceilings. After nationalisation in 1945, the Czech Red Cross school was based here until 2000; since 2015 the chateau has been in private hands again and is being gradually restored. It opened to the public only in the 2026 season, having been inaccessible until then.
