The University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague operates a teaching brewery that offers tours for organised groups and schools. The tour lasts 45–90 minutes and includes an explanation of the beer brewing process, research, and the use of brewing technologies. The brewery serves both research and educational purposes and produces its own beers.
Why visit this place?
The first surviving mention of an experimental school microbrewery at the Prague technical university dates from 1900; the copper brewhouse made by ZVU Hradec Kralove in 1965 still serves students today.
The beer brewed here has carried the name LACHOUT since 1990, derived from the pleasant taste of the local brew.
