Střekov Hydroelectric Power Plant is the largest hydroelectric plant on the Elbe river in the Czech Republic, commissioned in 1936 as part of the Masaryk Lock. Three Kaplan turbines with a combined output of 19.5 MW supply energy to 25–27 thousand households annually. During European Heritage Days and World Water Day, the plant opens to the public: guides lead visitors through its history, the turbine hall, the switchgear room, and the trash rack system.
