The science centre occupies the former Pavilion D on the Brno exhibition grounds and opened to the public on 1 December 2014.
The permanent exhibition is split into four sections – Planeta, Civilizace, Člověk and Mikrosvět. The millionth visitor arrived at the end of January 2019.
