Category: volcanic cone / natural monument
The best-preserved Quaternary volcano in Moravia (780 m above sea level) in the Nízký Jeseník range – a national natural monument formed by a perfectly preserved volcanic cone with a basalt lava flow. On the summit stands a 20 m high wooden lookout tower (2007) with views of the Hrubý Jeseník, Nízký Jeseník and the Slezská Harta reservoir. Nearby is Čertův kámen (a basalt boulder of volcanic origin).
A geological excursion focused on volcanic activity, the formation of basalt rocks and the geomorphology of the Nízký Jeseník range. The lookout tower adds a panoramic overview of the surrounding landscape.
