The most important Marian pilgrimage site in Bohemia and a National Cultural Monument. A Baroque cloister complex of 80 × 72 m with four corner chapels, built 1660–1673 by architect Carlo Lurago. The central Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary houses a Gothic Madonna statue and a silver altar from 1684–1775. Covered holy steps lead up to the sanctuary. Administered by the Redemptorists since 1861.

Covered ‚holy stairs' built in 1658 lead up from the town; pilgrims climbed them on their knees, and K. I. Dienzenhofer reworked them in 1727–1729.
Petr Brandl's altar painting The Annunciation of 1697 now hangs in the National Gallery in Prague.
