Category: sandstone ridge — national natural monument

Suché skály is a national natural monument in the Maloskalsko area of Český ráj — a 600 m long sandstone ridge up to 70 m high, nicknamed the 'Czech Dolomites'. The ridge consists of approximately 20 towers (Hlavní věž, Sokolí věž, Samotář, etc.) that from a distance resemble organ pipes or a dragon's spine. The ideal viewpoint is from the saddle ridge above Malá Skála along the red trail — excellent for teaching geomorphology and geology.
