The Starý Martin Adit in Krupka is part of the UNESCO Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří Mining Region heritage. Visitors can enter the historic tin adit and learn about mining in the medieval and early modern Ore Mountains. Krupka is part of the World Heritage Mining Landscape.

Why visit this place?

• The tour route is 1000 metres there and back and the temperature inside stays at 8 °C all year, so warm clothes and sturdy shoes are useful.
• Tin output here tripled during the 15th century and rose by half again in the 16th; mining in Krupka finally ended in 1922.
• Allow roughly an hour; the programme is aimed at lower primary, upper primary and secondary students.
• There are 57 more tips within 25 km, enough to build a full-day trip.
• The whole programme is indoors, so rain is not a problem.
• There is a dedicated programme for school groups, not just general admission.
