A lookout tower on the ruins of Starý Herštejn Castle in the Český les mountains. The torso of the Gothic bergfried was stabilised and rebuilt between 2017 and 2020 and topped with a viewing platform, which opened to the public on 19 September 2020. The castle stands in the Starý Hirštejn nature reserve, and the gallery offers views of the Český les range and neighbouring Bavaria. A red-marked trail 1.2 km long with an elevation gain of about 120 metres leads to the tower from Vranovské sedlo. Access is year-round and free of charge.

In 1484 the castle was stormed by soldiers of the Palatine elector Philip and even women and children were killed; only four-year-old Petr survived.
In the 17th century the area around the castle drew gem hunters, who found aquamarines and chrysoberyls here.
