The lookout tower on Šibeniční vrch above Horšovský Týn has been closed since March 2025. The 21.5 m tall wooden tower with a viewing platform at 13 metres was built in 2010 by an association of local enthusiasts on the site of the former chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes. According to surveys it is in such poor condition that it will not reopen and the town has a demolition permit; a new tower is to be built in its place. A 2.5 km long educational trail with six information boards and play features for children leads to the hill from the town square.
