A thirty-five-metre reinforced concrete tower dating from 1930 on Kožova hora near Kladno. The hill rises to 456 metres and lies about two kilometres south of the town's edge, in the cadastral area of the village of Pletený Újezd. The glazed viewing gallery at a height of 31 metres offers a panoramic view of Prague, Kladno, the České středohoří range, Říp and the Křivoklátsko region. There is a restaurant by the tower and you can park right at the entrance gate.

Why visit this place?

• 131 steps lead up to the gallery; the design was drawn up in 1929 by architect Jaroslav Beranek and the tower was ceremonially opened on 11 May 1930.
• The restaurant and the tower were closed for renovation from autumn 2022 until 2024; the hill is tourist stamp site no. 345.
• Admission is free, which helps when the class budget is tight.
• Allow roughly 45 minutes; the programme is aimed at lower primary, upper primary and secondary students.
