The Petr Bezruč Memorial in Opava is part of the Silesian Museum and presents the life and work of the famous Silesian poet, author of the Silesian Songs. The range of educational programmes for schools covers Czech literature, regional history and art workshops.

Why visit this place?

• The museum opened on 5 May 1956 and, after the poet's death, became the universal heir to his estate.
• Its collections hold 197,375 items; in the scale of its literary holdings of Silesian and Ostrava authors it ranks right behind the Museum of Czech Literature.

• Allow roughly an hour; the programme is aimed at upper primary and secondary students.
