One of six heavy fortification structures of the Czechoslovak border fortifications in South Moravia, built in 1938 in the Dyje river corridor near the state border. This two-storey, double-sided bunker with the code name Závora offers guided tours and is open during the South Moravia Fortress Museums Day event or by individual arrangement.

Why visit this place?

• Two adjoining light bunkers of the vz. 37 type belong to the fort, and inside it keeps a modernised air filtration system, armoured cupolas and the original pump.
• The fort was part of the plan to defend the state against Austria, which is why it differs from most infantry blockhouses in several details.
• Allow roughly 45 minutes; the programme is aimed at upper primary and secondary students.
• There are 16 more tips within 25 km, enough to build a full-day trip.
• There is a dedicated programme for school groups, not just general admission.
