The National Nature Reserve at the heart of the Pálava Protected Landscape Area forms the most prominent limestone crags of southern Moravia – the summits of Děvín (549 m) and Kotel are separated by a deep gorge with vertical rock faces. The Děvín nature trail (11 km, 15 stops, 3 interconnected loops) guides visitors through rocky steppes, scree forests and viewpoints over the Nové Mlýny reservoir. The site is part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
