A cultural and creative centre in the building of a former manorial granary from 1908–1909, protected as a cultural monument by the Ministry of Culture since June 2012. The first floor houses an exhibition on traditional and modern woodworking crafts in the region (brush-making, pump-making, charcoal-burning, drumstick manufacturing) and a specialist library; the ground floor has creative workshops and classrooms, and the second floor a multi-purpose hall for exhibitions, lectures and theatre. The exhibition is managed by the Městské muzeum ve Volyni; the centre was created through a renovation funded by the National Recovery Plan.
Why visit this place?
The former manorial granary, built in 1908–1909 to a design by architect Karel Náhlík, has been protected as an immovable cultural monument since June 2012.
Its conversion into a cultural and creative centre, costing approx. CZK 28.1 million (of which CZK 19.6 million came from the National Recovery Plan), turned the granary's three floors into workshops, an exhibition on woodworking crafts and a multifunctional hall.
Besides the tour there are hands-on workshops, so children get to make something themselves.
Allow roughly an hour; the programme is aimed at lower primary, upper primary and secondary students.
