The permanent interactive exhibition Objev Jesenicko, housed in the historic Katovna building, links the story of the region with multimedia technology. The ground floor features panels on the natural environment of the Jeseníky region and a live aquarium with peat moss; upstairs there are six portable IQ exhibits with puzzles demonstrating the laws of nature, plus board games. Visitors are guided by the figure of the executioner, who tells the history of the building in two films.

The Katovna building was declared a cultural monument in 1963 and was renovated in 2015 for approximately CZK 15 million; since then it has served as a tourist information centre.
