A new visitor centre dedicated to the Erzgebirge/Ore Mountains Mining Region, which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2019. It is being created in a carefully restored burgher's house on Náměstí Republiky, which has been a protected monument since 1958 and has preserved historical structures and artistic craftsmanship details from the early 16th century. In an engaging way, the exhibition presents the history of silver, tin, cobalt, and uranium mining in the Ore Mountains, as well as the entire cross-border heritage region made up of 22 components on both the Czech and Saxon sides. The opening is planned for 2026 (reconstruction has been underway since spring 2025).
