The Archdiocesan Museum Olomouc is housed in the historic complex of the Přemyslid Palace dating from the 12th century. The exhibitions present sacred art, medieval and early modern art of Olomouc, and the Romanesque bishop's palace. The museum offers rich educational programmes and gallery animations for schools from preschool age through secondary school.

• The museum was founded in 1998 at the instigation of Pope John Paul II and opened its display in the buildings of the former Olomouc Castle in 2006.
• In December 2015 it became, together with the castle complex, the first place in the country to receive the European Heritage Label.
