A branch of the Nový Jičín Museum with nine permanent exhibitions at the foot of Radhošť. They guide visitors through the town's medieval roots, the weaving trade, the beginnings of Czech tourism and the fates of emigrants to America. These are complemented by the Touches of Nature exhibition and a collection of shooting targets displayed in the corridors. The museum runs its own educational programmes for schools.

Why visit this place?

• The museum occupies the neo-Renaissance former boys' school of 1876 at Horní 220; its permanent exhibitions cover more than 1000 square metres.
• The collection was started by teacher Jiří Felix, who in 1892 pushed through a local ethnographic society that left behind 80 objects.
