The Velké Meziříčí Museum is housed in the chateau and features a permanent exhibition on roads and highways. The department was established in the late 1970s, and in 1980 an exhibition on the D1 and D2 motorways opened; at the time the museum was called the Museum of Roads and Motorways, returning to its regional name only in 2002. The road section remains part of the tour route and includes an extensive collection of bridge models from across the country — stone, wooden, concrete and metal. The tour continues with the history of the town, militaria, mineralogy and the chateau interiors.
