The original experiential Gingerbread Museum is housed in an 1882 hunting lodge near Kunětická hora close to Pardubice. Visitors are welcomed by a witch who bakes genuine Pardubice gingerbread in front of them and tells stories about the town's famous confectionery tradition. The interactive tour with baking is suitable for children of all age groups.
Why visit this place?
The hunting lodge was built in 1882 for Baron Richard Drasche of Wartinberg, who had acquired the local estate in 1881.
Inside is an international collection of book editions of the Grimm brothers' Hansel and Gretel, from Swedish to Esperanto and Croatian.
Besides the tour there are hands-on workshops, so children get to make something themselves.
Allow roughly an hour; the programme is aimed at preschoolers, lower primary and upper primary.

The whole programme is indoors, so rain is not a problem.
