The Mladá Boleslav Museum is housed in a Renaissance castle and documents the history of the town and region, archaeology, crafts and military history. It offers permanent exhibitions and programs for schools.

Why visit this place?

• From 1752 the castle was rebuilt into barracks with room for six companies of 113 men each, and it served the army until 1953.
• From 1940 to early 1943 the barracks complex was used as an internment centre for Jewish citizens before their transports to concentration camps.
