The museum is housed in the building of the former Royal Mint from 1534–1536. The permanent exhibition presents the history of Jáchymov, silver mining with a working model of a mine, the minting of Jáchymov thalers (predecessor of the dollar), Renaissance culture and the personalities of Georgius Agricola and Johann Mathesius.
