A small museum housed in the former old school building (now a guesthouse) in Kelč in the Wallachia region. The permanent exhibition Following the Traces of Kelč Pipe-Making, installed in 2012 by the Museum of the Wallachia Region in cooperation with the town, commemorates the traditional manufacture of smoking pipes. The second section is devoted to the Křička siblings, natives of Kelč – the poet and translator Petr Křička, the composer Jaroslav Křička and Pavla Křičková. Visits must be arranged by phone at least one day in advance.

Why visit this place?

• The permanent display on the local pipe-making trade was installed in 2012 by the Museum of the Valašsko Region together with the town of Kelč.
• Kelč is the birthplace of composer Jaroslav Křička, born in 1882, who wrote the music for the cartoon How the Mole Got His Trousers.
• Allow roughly an hour; the programme is aimed at lower primary, upper primary and secondary students.
• There are 43 more tips within 25 km, enough to build a full-day trip.
• The whole programme is indoors, so rain is not a problem.
• There is a dedicated programme for school groups, not just general admission.
