The Museum of Czech Garnet in Třebenice, opened in 1959 in the building of a former Lutheran church, documents the mining and processing of Czech garnet – pyrope. It exhibits a collection of garnet jewellery including the Ulrike von Levetzow set and the Castles of the Bohemian Central Uplands exhibition. In front of the museum, visitors can pan for garnets themselves.
