The Municipal Museum of Žamberk is housed in an Empire-style building of the former St. Catherine's Hospital from 1845, built by the estate owner John Parish as a shelter for elderly employees. The permanent exhibition traces the development of traditional folk and artistic crafts in the Podorlicko region – lace-making, woodworking, and textiles. It also documents the history of Žamberk and its famous natives: the inventor of the lightning rod Prokop Diviš, the founder of modern surgery Prof. Eduard Albert, and the composer Petr Eben. Highlights include the Erxleben pharmacy from the late 19th century, Jedlička's mechanical nativity scene, and puppet theatres.
