Městské muzeum Netvořice

Location: Muzejní 46, 257 44 Netvořice · Central Bohemia

Category: regional museum

The museum has the largest permanent exhibition of Týnec earthenware in the Czech Republic — a collection of around 580 pieces of tableware and decorative objects from the defunct factory in Týnec nad Sázavou, founded around 1791 by František Josef, Count of Vrtba. The collection also includes exhibits from Prague Castle donated to the museum in 1927 by the Office of the President T. G. Masaryk, and a prototype of the Barták penny-farthing. On the ground floor there is a permanent exhibition devoted to the wartime displacement of Netvořice and the surrounding area during the Second World War. Opening hours are limited to Friday afternoons and weekends; school groups must arrange their visit by telephone in advance.
