Městská divadla pražská (MDP) comprises the ABC, Komedie and Rokoko stages and offers the Theatre for Schools programme aimed at secondary school students. The programme includes morning and afternoon theatre performances, pre-show lecturer introductions, workshops and free downloadable teaching materials. Its goal is to spark interest in live performance and complement classroom teaching with elements of artistic creation.

Why visit this place?

• Prague City Theatres came into being in 1950 through a merger of the Chamber Theatre and the Komedie theatre; its first director was Ota Ornest.
• It is the largest single-ensemble drama theatre in the country, and the ABC theatre has belonged to it since the 1962/63 season.
• Besides the tour there are hands-on workshops, so children get to make something themselves.
• Allow roughly two hours; the programme is aimed at upper primary and secondary students.
