An exhibition of Tatra passenger cars, formerly known as the Tatra Technical Museum. The company collection in Kopřivnice began to take shape in the early 1950s and most of the exhibited vehicles are listed as movable cultural monuments. The tour begins with a rotating replica of the Präsident car, continues with the oldest originals of the NW marque and ends with the aerodynamic Tatra limousines. Tatra trucks form a separate exhibition in a second building on Husova Street.
Why visit this place?
The core of the display is 61 passenger cars of the NW and Tatra marques. The museum opened on 3 October 1997, marking a hundred years of car making in Kopřivnice.
A Präsident car stands on a revolving plinth by the entrance. It is a 1977 replica, as the original is kept at the National Technical Museum in Prague.
Allow roughly an hour and a half; the programme is aimed at lower primary, upper primary and secondary students.
