The Regional Scientific Library of the Moravian-Silesian Region is located in the New Town Hall building on Prokešovo náměstí in the centre of Ostrava. It offers innovative programmes for children and youth – Code Club (robot programming, 3D printing, website creation), a makerspace with a robotics workshop, digital literacy workshops and financial education.

Why visit this place?

• The New City Hall was built between 1925 and 1930 and with its 86-metre tower it is the tallest town hall building in the country.
• The tower holds a viewing terrace at a height of 73 metres and a clock whose face is 350 centimetres across.
