Jenatschkeho Kovárna – Muzeum Povrly

A municipal museum in the rescued historic forge of the Jenatschke family, with a preserved working hearth, hand bellows and anvils. The exhibition covers copper production (Kovohutě Povrly), the history of the village and two period-furnished rooms – a kitchen and a bedroom. Opened on 1 July 2026 in a building the municipality bought in a dilapidated state in 2019.

Why visit this place?

• The Jenatschke family of blacksmiths practised their craft in the building from 1823, when founder Franz Jenatschke married into Povrly, until the 1920s.
• The municipality bought the dilapidated forge in 2019 and opened the museum, with a working hearth and an exhibition on Kovohutě Povrly, on 1 July 2026.
• Allow roughly an hour; the programme is aimed at lower primary, upper primary and secondary students.
• There are 75 more tips within 25 km, enough to build a full-day trip.
• The whole programme is indoors, so rain is not a problem.
