The Zlín Observatory, operated by the Zlín Astronomical Society (ZAS), offers regular night-sky observations, public lectures, astronomy clubs and educational programmes for schools. It is located in the pleasant surroundings of the Lesní čtvrť district. The school programme focuses on astronomy and natural sciences.

• The present building opened on 9 January 2004; a temporary wooden observatory had stood here since 6 June 1953 and was removed during the school rebuild in 2002.
