The observatory on the western edge of Žďár nad Sázavou has been operating since 1984 and was renovated in 2009. Every Friday in good weather it holds public observation sessions. The astronomy club uses the observatory for its meetings. The observatory is equipped with a Cassegrain telescope 240/3540.
