An imposing ruin of the royal Gothic castle of Charles IV, built in 1356–1361, stands on the summit of Radyně hill (569 m) above Starý Plzenec. It offers panoramic views over the Plzeň Region and surroundings. Guided tours run seasonally, April–October on weekends and public holidays.
