The most extensive castle ruin in Bohemia, covering over 1 ha. The castle from the early 13th century became famous as the place where Jan Žižka was captured twice. It offers guided tours of the towers and palace as well as free access to the courtyard.

Why visit this place?

• The castle was besieged twice by an army under Jan Žižka of Trocnov, and during the second siege, in July 1421, Žižka lost his remaining eye here.
