A residential eco-centre in the mountain settlement of Jizerka in the heart of the Jizera Mountains (862 m above sea level). This certified centre is operated by Společnost pro Jizerské hory, o.p.s. It runs residential environmental education programmes for primary and secondary school pupils focused on the Jizera Mountains, peat bogs, climate change and biodiversity. The chalet offers 25 beds and programmes take place mainly in May, June and September.

Why visit this place?

• The chalet has served environmental education since 2006; it belongs to the Ivan Dejmal Foundation and is leased by the Jizera Mountains Society.
• Jizerka is the highest settlement in the Jizera Mountains and its buildings have been a protected village conservation area since 1995.
• Besides the tour there are hands-on workshops, so children get to make something themselves.
• Allow roughly 1440 minutes; the programme is aimed at lower primary, upper primary and secondary students.
• There are 91 more tips within 25 km, enough to build a full-day trip.
• There is a dedicated programme for school groups, not just general admission.
