The Drosera rescue station in Bublava cares for injured wild animals. The station itself is not open to the public – only the display aviaries at the edge of the grounds are freely accessible, housing permanently disabled animals, mainly birds of prey, that live out their lives there. The station operates as a non-profit organisation for the Ore Mountains region and also focuses on educating children and young people about nature conservation.
Why visit this place?
The station's best-known case is the young wolf Bubla, badly injured in a collision with a car; after treatment he returned to the wild.
Only the display aviaries at the edge of the grounds are open to visitors; the station itself is closed and is not a zoo.
