The Wildlife Protection Centre in Rozovy near Temelín is a rescue station operated by the South Bohemian Zoo Hluboká. It was opened in 2006 with support from the South Bohemian Region and cares for injured and disabled wild animals from the České Budějovice and Český Krumlov districts. The goal is to treat the animals and return them to the wild.

Why visit this place?

• Since 1997 the zoo has been part of the national network of rescue stations for handicapped wild animals coordinated by ČSOP.
• Besides the Rozovy site, injured wild animals are also received at the facility inside Zoo Hluboká itself.
• The exhibition is interactive — it expects you to touch the exhibits and try them out.
• Allow roughly an hour and a half; the programme is aimed at lower primary and upper primary.
