The Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science at Palacký University in Olomouc offers extensive outdoor and greenhouse exhibitions of world flora. The garden serves both scientific and educational purposes and is open to the public and school groups alike. Collections include tropical, subtropical and Central European plants.

Why visit this place?

• The garden was founded in 1901 by the Botanischer Verein in Olmütz society; about 1500 plant species grow on its 0.56 hectare today.
• In April 2024 a new building opened here with a lecture hall named after the Moravian botanist Josef Otruba.
• Admission is free, which helps when the class budget is tight.
• Allow roughly an hour and a half; the programme is aimed at lower primary, upper primary and secondary students.
• There are 67 more tips within 25 km, enough to build a full-day trip.
• There is a dedicated programme for school groups, not just general admission.
